Artist/s: Zoe Brand & Claire McArdle

No work is created in a vacuum. The world influences and inspires. Is our connectedness shrinking or expanding our relationship to things? When is a work said to be original or a copy? By taking a thought experiment and making it real, each artist will present a piece created from the concept of the blank slate. These two pieces will then form the basis for a series of work created from the other's initial piece, McArdle from Brand's and vice versa. The series will be an investigation based on the other artists' practice, techniques, materials and conceptualisation. Starting out as a copy of the original, each piece will then be informed by the last as we see the influence of the initial work fade and transform into the artist own work. How long does it take to get from C to Z and back?
